A hotel website: how to get more direct bookings
A hotel website with a gallery, bookings, more than one language, and local SEO saves OTA commissions and turns searches such as “hotel [city]” into direct reservations.

Why your hotel needs a professional website
A tourist researches before they book. Instagram creates aspiration; Google and your website close the decision: prices, location, real photos, Wi‑Fi, parking, distance from the beach or the center.
If you rely only on Booking, Airbnb, or Instagram, you pay high commissions and lose control of the brand. A good hotel website increases direct bookings and makes you visible when someone types “hotel Sarandë”, “guesthouse Tirana”, or the name of your property.
This guide is for hotels, boutiques, guesthouses, rental villas, and resorts on the Riviera, in Tirana, and across Albania.
What a hotel website should include
A hotel site is not a pretty catalog — it is a sales tool. The minimum that converts:
- Professional photos — rooms, views, atmosphere, breakfast, pool; not dark phone photos.
- A clear “Book now” button — WhatsApp, phone, and/or a booking engine.
- Room pages with a description, amenities, and guide prices (or “check availability”).
- A map and “how to get here” — airport, bus, parking.
- Albanian and English (often Italian or German as well, for the Riviera).
- Facilities — Wi‑Fi, air conditioning, breakfast, transfer, pet friendly — listed clearly.
- A cancellation policy and 24/7 contact when you can offer it.
- SEO for “hotel [city]” plus the property name and the type (boutique, family, sea view).
Direct bookings versus OTAs (Booking and others)
OTAs bring traffic, but they take 15–20%+ in commission. The sensible strategy: stay on OTAs for visibility, and send as many bookings as you can to your own website.
- A best-rate offer, or a small discount, for booking directly on the site.
- Email and WhatsApp after the stay: “Book with us again, with no commission.”
- A simple booking path (engine, form, or calendar) — you do not need a complex CRM on day one.
- A fast mobile site: most tourists search from a phone on the beach or at the airport.
SEO and Google Maps for a hotel
Without local SEO, the website stays invisible. Focus on:
- A complete Google Business Profile: hotel or lodging category, photos, reception hours, website link.
- The page title: hotel name + city + type (for example “Hotel X — boutique hotel in Vlorë”).
- Unique content for every room or package — not a copy from Booking.
- Reviews that are linked and answered.
- Separate pages for nearby attractions (the beach, the old town) — they help SEO and the guest.
How much does a hotel website cost?
A hotel or guesthouse website with a gallery, more than one language, and a booking form usually costs €1,500–4,000 in Albania. With a full booking engine, a channel manager, or a guest portal, the investment rises. Reliable hosting (especially in season) matters — do not save on the server if you expect summer traffic.
